UNIQUE POTENTIAL

Each child has unique skills. We celebrate the diversity and achievements of every student, encouraging them to gain confidence in their abilities and to achieve their potential.
There is a lot on offer at St Columba’s and we have something for everyone. St Columba’s has highly regarded specialist programs in STEM, Robotics, Visual Arts, Music, Physical Education, Korean and Library.
When children need extra help to build their confidence and skills, our specialist teachers provide learning support programs in Literacy and Mathematics.
For children who are ready for more challenge, we offer enrichment activities to groups outside of their regular class.
LIFELONG LEARNERS

We nurture lifelong learners and critical thinkers who ask questions, discern and problem solve. Building resilience and perseverance will help them on their life journey.
Every child’s wellbeing is paramount to us. We are committed to the learning, development and education of the whole child, so they may develop a strong sense of self and a connection to the broader community.
SPIRIT OF ST COLUMBAS

The spirit of the school is founded on the dedicated work of the Sisters of Mercy and the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart. They have created a wonderful legacy for future generations.
Our values-focussed approach to education brings the Catholic faith to life by showing children ways to live every day. Students undertake the sacraments of Reconciliation, Holy Communion and Confirmation through St Columba Parish.
COMMITED AND CARING TEACHERS

Committed and caring teachers are at the very heart of St Columba’s. We know that healthy relationships and wellbeing are essential to a child’s positive experience at school.
We believe children are creative, critical and imaginative thinkers who learn by exploring and applying their knowledge.
Our teachers are professionals who embrace teaching practices that are evidence-based and known to make a difference. Through a differentiated learning experience, we cater for the individual child.
WELCOMING AND SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY

St Columba’s has a welcoming and supportive community where families, staff and children share the values of respect, kindness and compassion.
Our parents are very connected to the school and they value the friendship and support one finds in an inclusive community. We value our relationships with the broader community and St Columba Parish.
OUTSTANDING LOCATION AND FACILITIES

Situated on the South Perth foreshore, our school has excellent facilities and well-resourced learning environments to enrich children’s experience.
We have a newly opened Kindergarten facility and administration block; playing fields overlooking the city; nature playgrounds; modern classrooms that are well-resourced; a Library; and dedicated learning spaces for Visual Arts, STEM and Music.
KINDERGARTEN

Early learning is play based (Kath Walker Learning), with a focus on exploration, imagination and investigation. Phonics is explicitly taught and children are also immersed in play based, open ended reading, writing and numeracy activities.
Our new Kindergarten facility is a beautifully restored space. St Columba’s offers both three-year-old Pre-Kindy and four-year-old Kindergarten.
Kindergarten positions are advertised two years ahead and families are encouraged to apply when their child is two years of age, or younger.
